Alois Kösters has been appointed editor in chief of the German newspaper Magdeburger Volksstimme. He succeeds Franz Kadell, who left the company.

Kösters comes from the Hessian newspaper group Lahn-Dill, where he worked amongst other things for Wetzlarer Neue Zeitung. No successor has been appointed yet for Kösters at Wetzlarer Neue Zeitung.

Magdeburger Volksstimme has a circulation of 193,000 and is part of Bauer Media Group.
